We’ve talked a lot about how different companies have used gamification in their marketing strategy. But what if we tell you there are more departments that may find gamification useful? What if you create a game for your employees to enlighten their regular every-other workday?

This is where gamification for HR steps in.

How Gamification Works in the Workplace

The goal of gamification is to make everyday tasks more engaging and fun so that employees will be more likely to stick with them. When done right, it can lead to increased productivity, motivation, and even creativity. Gamification can also help break down obstacles that might otherwise prevent employees from working together effectively, such as language barriers.

If you’re looking for a way to increase engagement and motivation among your employees, consider using games as part of your strategy. Who knows? You might just end up with a team that’s even more productive than before!

Lets take at Kaupmees & KO AS, one of the biggest wholesale companies in Estonia as an example.

Kaupmees HR Jeopardy game

How Kaupmees used gamification

Kaupmees’s HR department used gamification to create a sense of competition and camaraderie among employees while celebrating the company’s 30th jubilee. By using gamification, they were able to increase employee engagement and motivation while also promoting team building. The results were impressive, with nearly two-thirds of employees playing and finishing the game.

For bigger and international companies it might be a struggle to engage all of its employees. Every person has different interests, they speak different languages so it is very hard to actually reach every employee. This is where games and Adact’s software uniqueness comes to play. Kaupmees took advantage of the automatic translation feature to create campaigns in two languages: Estonian and Russian. This helped them reach their employees all across Estonia.

How did they promote their game?

Kaupmees has managed to engage their employees and get them involved in activity by using the power of email communication, good old posters at every location – it really worked!

What could be better than some nice, shiny prizes? The head of HR for Kaupmees gave out all sorts of amazing incentives to encourage everyone who participated in the jubilee jeopardy. Who knows – maybe this was what really pushed them over their limit and made them play harder!
